Gift packages and money prizes for the authors of the best photos!

Today is the first day of the international photography competition “Karst fields of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2021” which will last until July 31st. The expert jury will select 20 winning photos on the topics: karst poljes and water, karst poljes and people, karst poljes and wild plants and karst poljes and wild animals.
For each topic, the five best photos will be selected, the authors of which will be awarded gift packages, while the authors of the most successful photo from each category will also receive a 200 EUR prize. In addition, all winning photographs will be presented at exhibitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This competition is open to photographers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also from all over the world, and is organized within the “Karst Poljes 3+” project, implemented by the Ornithological Society Naše ptice and EuroNatur, with the support of partner organizations Center for the Environment and Naša Baština, and funded by the MAVA Foundation.
There are 53 categorized karst poljes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the largest flooded karst polje in the world – Livanjsko polje, which is a phenomenon with an extremely rich network of groundwaters and surface waters with temporary and constant flows, rich in flora (over 800 vascular plants) and fauna (impressive 265 bird species). However, despite significant natural and geographical values, Livanjsko polje still has no legal protection at the state level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is necessary in order to preserve this area and to maintain the quality of life of its inhabitants.
Rules and details about participation the competition can be found here.
